Machine Learning(ML), when I heard this term a decade ago, I felt it's absurd, it liked a game for having fun.
After a decade, the technology of ML has been improved a lot. It likes a baby who has already grown up to be a semi-mature teenager. This teenager can contribute adults to make a better decision than ever.
Since a Machine(computer system) has the capacities of learning from data, identifying patterns and making basic decisions, ML can be applied in various fields. Google uses ML to optimize the search results for end users. Netflix and Youtube utilizes ML to suggest videos based on users' preferences. Amazon puts Ai, Machine Learning and Face Recognition altogether, to build its retail shop- Amazon Go.
Machine Learning can also be used to shape the future of health care.
"wherever a human makes an important decision, machine learning is being discussed, and is increasingly being used to improve those decisions," says Dr. Andrew Rosenberg, chief information officer for Michigan Medicine.
What Dr. Andrew wants to do is, enrich their ability for predicting what will happen using known data points and unknown ones which the machine does.
Machine Learning can recognise which patients may have potentially life-threatening conditions, such as sepsis, , the body’s response to infection, and advise medical staff to test their blood.
Undoubtedly, the health care professionals make a significant progress with Machine Learning, helps to save a certain amount of patients' lives. I just concern the 69 percent accuracy of prediction that is not high enough.
