Owl Adam Diary

Description:The belief is like a train which takes you to various destination. A good belief takes you to a pleasant destination. An evil belief takes you to hell (Fiction)

A small belief could cause a big change, it seems like a butterfly fluttering wings in the Amazon Rainforest, causing a hurricane occurs in another side of the world. Don't you believe me? Let me tell you a story about Johnson.
Johnson was a farmer living in a rural area. His wife Betsy casually asked, "That man was a beggar, how come he is so rich now?" This question changed Johnson, a penniless farmer's life.

"Don't call him beggar anymore. He is now an alchemist," said Johnson.

"Alchemist? Are you still a great believer in alchemy?"

"NO! I don't even know what's that. It sounds evil. I just heard a rumour about him. A few years ago, a strange man taught him alchemy. From that day on, he can transmute metals into gold."

"Wow, that's amazing! If alchemy really exists, I want to know the secret about this brilliant magic."

"Secret means, it's impossible for you to know!"

"Should you try to spy it."

"NO! It's immoral. I don't do that!"

"Hey! Don't you want to become a wealthy guy?"

Johnson shook his head.

"You see, our house is old, furniture is old, our clothes are old, we are old too!" Betsy said, "The world is big, but our world is small! One house, one paddy field, that's all. We have never travelled to other countries."

Johnson didn't give her any feedback.

"All relatives look down on us. Our children have no self-confidence because they grew up in a poor family!"

"Are you a great believer in alchemy now?"

"I just want to know the secret of the alchemist. You should go begging him to teach you!"

"Hey, you think about it! If the alchemist can transmute metals into gold, he should become the richest person in the world, but he isn't. Alchemy must contain some restrictions. So..."

"So, you go begging him to teach you next morning! This is an order!" bawled Betsy.

In the evening, it was cool and good for sleeping. Betsy and children were sleeping sweetly. Besides Johnson, who was being obsessed by the matter of alchemy. He thought back what Betsy said, he was dazed,

"Begging the alchemist? Alchemy, it sounds terrible. I am afraid of having an unaffordable result."

Starlights were fading out, clouds were not blurring anymore. A flock of birds was singing along while flying for the mountainside. Johnson freshened himself in the washing room. Afterwards, he picked up a grey pullover, a black open front jumper and a pair of deep blue trousers from a closet. He put them on, then, went out of his home. Johnson was wandering around the neighbourhood. He caught sight of a beautiful 2-story house, which was a shop selling high-class home decorative items. Johnson thought, "I never can afford to buy even one cheapest stuff at this shop, never...never...! Poverty is my fate and nothing I can change."

Johnson felt starved and tired. So, he sat at a street food stall and yelled, "One boat congee, one fried noodles."

"Got it!" replied a thin man.

Less than a minute, a bowl of boat congee and a plate of fried noodles were already put on the table. He stirred the congee slowly with a spoon for mixing ingredients in the bowl, but his gaze stayed at a certain point on the table. As if, he'd lost his spirit. Steam was rising up from the congee with a nice smell, arousing his spirit back into Johnson's body. He got 5 or 6 pieces of rice in the spoon, looking at it closely. Then, he used the left hand's index finger to get a piece of rice and put it into the mouth, tasting it intently. He recognised the rice was from his paddy field. "My rice is good surely, but merchandisers suppress down the price as low as they can. " The hopeless feeling was expanding inside his mind,

"My soul is rotten and my life is doomed. I will gain a lot if my soul and life can be used in exchange for gold, Betsy and my children will have a great future!

Sacrificing myself for family, that's what a man has to do."  Johnson gobbled down the congee and fried noodles, paid for the breakfast and went along the way to somewhere.

Description:Since I was a kid. I started to find my way to escape from reality. Initially, I escaped by watching cartoons on T.V. Until I was 10, I liked watching movies more. I found both of them could not fully satisfy me for some reasons, so, I tried to read novels. Once I was caught by the magic of novels, I couldn’t rip out of reading.

Description:Recreational fishing is also an activity for having fun by killing lives. The fish catchers drag the fish out of the water to the land, the fish catchers seem to be enjoyable while looking at the fish struggling distressingly.
