Johnson was walking home sluggishly. He thought to himself,
"10-cup of rice. Why does alchemist want it?"
He went to a park, sat on a stone bench. He saw 3 kids were chasing one another around with laughter. Grownups never understood why they could have fun in this way, even grownups were kids, too!
"Happiness can be obtained in such an easy way, because, they don't need to worry about making a living!"
Johnson stayed at the park not long. He went back home while Betsy was cooking for lunch. Betsy asked him,
"Where did you go?"
"Visited alchemist as your order! I am pretty tired now." Then, Johnson went straight to bed.
The sun was going down, birds were chirping in trees. Twilight was a relaxing time in a day. One of Johnson's children, Sam cried out, "Dad is dead!"
"What's up?" Betsy asked nervously!
"I couldn't wake him up. He is no response!"
Betsy, Sam and Sam's younger sister went to the bedroom. Betsy saw Johnson who was sleeping sweetly.
"Your dad is just sleeping," said Betsy.
Sam held Johnson's left hand up, then, released the hand. "Pok!" Johnson's hand fell down on the bed.
"You see, he has no reaction!" Sam said. "He's died!"
Sam's younger sister, Mary laughed loudly. She said, "That's good, he will not force me to do reading anymore!"
"You shut up!" Betsy shouted.
Afterwards, Johnson moved slightly.
"Oh, he is reborn," Mary said.
Johnson was opening his eyes gradually, then he said, "You are so noisy!"
"You were dead!" Sam said.
"Really?" Johnson said, "I am very hungry. I should eat something before having dinner."
"No! Dinner is ready." Betsy said.
Johnson ate as much as he could. Then, he went to sit in the backyard. Betsy was washing dishes. After then, she took the trash can to the back door, poured the garbage into a trash tank. At that moment, she heard, "Pa...pa...pa..." sounds. They weren't the sounds of pouring garbage. Betsy wasn't sure where were the sounds from, she carried the empty trash can walking around the backyard. Betsy was walking towards the warehouse. Meanwhile, the strong sounds were getting louder and louder. She opened the door a bit for peeking the inside of the warehouse. She suddenly kicked to open the door vigorously, the back of a man was in front of her. Betsy capped the man's head with the empty trash can and grabbed a wood pole to hit him ruthlessly.
"Theft, you dare to steal my harvests!"
The theft was groaning disastrously. Betsy was aware of the familiar voice, so, she kicked the theft down on the ground before stopped her strike. Betsy moved the trash can out of the theft's head, then she yelled,
"My goodness! Are you alright? I thought the theft was stealing our rice!"
Actually, that guy was Johnson. This time, he really almost died.
"The rice...is...heavy..." said Johnson with a weak voice, "thefts must prefer...to steal wealthy and light...things."
"So, what are you doing here?"
"The alchemist requested me to visit him again with 10-cup of rice tomorrow night."
"Yeah! The alchemist promised to help us!" Betsy said excitedly, "When will we become rich? We can buy a new house, employ10 or 20 servants to serve me. Emm, we can also hire workers to do the farming jobs for us! Wow, I am feeling excited!" She hugged Johnson tightly.
"No! Alchemist didn't promise me anything..."
"Alright, It doesn't matter to denote him 10-cup of rice, even 1000-cup or all of our stock!"
